Analysing Search Results: Leveraging Filters for Precise Insight

    25 September 2026

When searching data on a global scale, the primary challenge is avoiding irrelevant results. Thousands of people with the same surname and companies with similar names can complicate the analysis.

YC.World addresses this challenge through intelligent ranking and multi-level filters.

    How YC.World organises search results

As soon as you press Enter, the system instantly ranks the available data. At the top of the list, you will always see the most relevant YC.World search results:

    • Exact matches: entities whose company name or individual name matches the query in full are displayed first.
    • Digital identifiers: results containing registration numbers or tax identification codes are given higher priority.
    • Source authority: entities confirmed by more sources are ranked higher. For example, if you search for a well-known public figure, that person will appear at the top of the list due to references across multiple registers.

    Deduplication: How YC.World Consolidates Data

One of the system’s key advantages is data deduplication. YC.World automatically consolidates information about the same counterparty from different countries and registers.
    • For companies, the system merges records by registration code and jurisdiction.
    • For individuals, it uses identification numbers, dates of birth and addresses.
    • For vessels, it relies on the unique IMO number.
Importantly, full transparency is preserved. The company profile in YC.World always indicates the exact sources from which the information has been compiled, for example, 21 records from 19 different registers.

Working with filters: From 600 results to one in seconds

If a query is too broad, use the filter panel on the left. This is the primary tool for counterparty analysis.

    Available YC.World filters include:

    • Geography: select a specific country. As of June 2025, 77 countries are available.
    • Data sources: select specific registers from more than 337 available sources.
    • Other filters: filter results by address, phone number, website or registration date.

Expert tip: If the entity has links to the United Kingdom, start filtering by this jurisdiction. UK registers in YC.World often contain the most detailed information, including date of birth, nationality and the correct Latin-script spelling. This can significantly enrich your investigation.

    Instant risk detection

At the search results stage, the system already highlights counterparty risks. Directly below the entity name, you will see:
    • Risk Factors: direct risks, including sanctions exposure or PEP status.
    • Risk Connections: risk-related connections, including the entity’s high-risk surrounding network.

    Language

Data in the system is displayed in the source language, whether German, Arabic, Ukrainian, or another language. However, automatic English translation can be enabled with one click. The system translates names, addresses and descriptions in the search results and on the graph, allowing you to work effectively with international cases.

    FAQs

Each profile shows the date of the latest data update in the system on the left-hand side, for example: “Active as of 09.06.2025”. In addition, by hovering over a specific field, you can view a direct link to the source from which the information was obtained.

Yes. You can enter contact details directly into the search bar. Although searching by registration code remains the most precise method, filtering by phone number or website can often help identify related structures that may be concealing their name.

The interface language is the language of the system buttons and menus, either Ukrainian or English. The data language is the language of the register information, meaning the original source language. This data can be translated into English with one click to support a more convenient investigation.
